MAN. OF. STEEL.

Ask anyone who knows me (that's at least 4 people), and they'll tell you I'm a massive Superman geek. This excites me in a way that would deem this post NSFW. The pose screams "Ok, now my turn." Which seems to me to be setting the tone for the film. The costume looks GREAT! Even though the crotchal region is obscured, I think with or without the red shorts, he's gonna look aces. So looking forward to this flick.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOON.

Today we watched the moonrise. It was quite spectacular.

We also watched Valkyrie:

It's taken us 2 years to get round to watching this but it was well worth it.

We were going to go and see Suckerpunch or Source Code or Submarine today but our local cinema seems to think that they've been showing too long (about 3 weeks) and Scream 4 and Hop have taken over. Bah. So we stayed in.

We also watched Hype!:

A great doc from 15 years ago about the Seattle music scene with interviews from the people that were actually there, which segues nicely into a blog I found:

Everybody Loves Our Town
Check it out. Good stuff.

And we started season 3 of Breaking Bad. It's hard to put into words how good I think this show is. So I'll leave it there. It's brilliant. Go watch if you haven't already.

Plug Time!

A good friend of mine has just redone his illustration website: Sam Simpson.
Have a look, give him a job!

And while you're at it listen to My First Tooth, buy their record and tell them I sent ya'!

Laaayzee Sunday.

So this evening I tried to dry my hands in the pub toilets by putting them under what I thought was a hand dryer. It turned to be an empty paper towel dispenser. It took me quite some time to figure this out.

Also; chickens lay one egg a day. Mind=BLOWN.

And a teaser trailer has been released for the new Conan film. I've heard so many negative things about this new take on Conan, most of them before any images or footage had been shown. I remain optimistic!

Avengers be Assemblin'!

A couple of concept images for the upcoming 'THOR' and 'CAPTAIN AMERICA' movie hit the interwebs this week and quite spiffy they are. But the supergeek in me is to impatient to wait for the Avengers movie to marvel (heh!) at the combined awesomeness of Thor, Cap and ol' shellhead; so I knocked this up in photoshop:

My Little Modok

As well as pimpin' the greatness of other blogs and random internet tomfoolery, I shall also be posting my own attempts to further saturate the webisphere.

This wee something I knocked up is for the previously mentioned
MARCH MODOK MADNESS blog!

Modok has a drink. Hilarious, huh?

*sigh*

MARCH MODOK MADNESS!!

Just want to throw out a shout to the annual MARCH MODOK MADNESS blog!

I for one will be contributing as soon as I can stop procrastinating.

The Amazing Spider-Man.

Wow. Just wow.

The love I have for this show is just unparalleled. This will always be the real Spider-Man to me. Sam Raimi did a fine job but this TV show seems to do it more for me. I know it's not great and it's basically a 70's cop show with a guy in tights and it took incredible liberties with the source material but dammit, I loves it!

All the episodes are on Youtube but oh how I pine for a DVD! It's funny, they'll happily release 'Elektra' but they won't release this?!

Spaced. The godawful American Version.

One of the greatest things about 'Spaced', was the how important American culture was to British people. Especially growing up in the 1980's. We were bombarded with awesomeness on a daily basis, thanks to imported genre TV shows, music, comics and amazing toys. All of this had a considerable effect on our psyches, and made playing on waste grounds so much more fun.

The US version of 'Spaced' doesn't have that. As, obviously, it's already American. So instead of trying to do it's own thing and adapt the characters to fit, by making them more neurotic or geeky or whatever. It pretty much just copies the original. And without the uniqueness of Edgar Wrights Direction and without an original spin it comes across as, well, crap. Painful even. I can't even think of anything remotely funny to write. I love Spaced. I don't love this.
